 Minutes of the Monthly Meeting of the Board of Directors of
Westlake Homeowners Association
July 20, 2020 6:30 p.m.; by phone

Board members in attendance:  Fritz Gerwe, Chris Heuer, Rolland Royce

Fritz called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.

Meeting minutes.  Minutes of the June 2020 meeting were approved.   

Treasurer’s report.  Rolland reviewed the June financials.

Architectural Design Review Committee and common area maintenance.  Fritz led a discussion of the following ADRC and open space matters handled within this past month:

The Board reviewed and approved a bid estimate in the amount of $2,150 from Green Growth Landscape Maintenance.  The work will involve irrigation system maintenance, including repair of a broken pipe and installation of new timers and sprinkler heads on Westlake Drive, Parkview Drive and on islands on Camden Lane, Coventry Court, Greensborough Court, and Victoria Court.

The Board reviewed and approved exterior paint changes on Camden Lane and Charles Circle.

The Board reviewed an email from Tom Berridge regarding the status of our oak woodland rejuvenation project.  The cutting of invasive trees and spraying of other invasive species has been completed as scheduled.  Another spraying will be needed this summer. The plan is to thin the ash trees in September, which will require a notice to neighbors of the woodland. With the assistance of a homeowner, Tom has been cutting up and dispersing some brush piles in the woodland.  Tom also toured the woods with an arborist who was planning to make a bid on assessing hazardous trees along the perimeters of all three tracts but has not yet heard back from him.

The Board reviewed and approved a follow-up response to the homeowner on Charles Circle regarding the bee colony located in the open space behind his home.
